DPC - Damp Proof Courses

DPC 1 - TYPE BA

Use
Provides a moulded DPC barrier only for arches, thus permitting traditional construction (unlike type A and AA cavitrays which provide DPC and integral guide shuttering).

Introduction
Established construction methods using traditional centering are still required on some projects, and for such purposes the Type BA barrier arch DPC is appropriate.

DPC 2 - TYPE K

Use
Cavitray damp course for circular openings.

Introduction
Whenever a circular bullseye window is installed, the builder faces the difficult task of providing correct DPC protection.
A conventional horizontal damp-course leaves vulnerable areas which readily accept and transmit dampness. Ideally, the damp-course should follow the shape of the circular window and provide 360° protection. This is acheived with the circular Type K cavitray.

DPC 3 - TYPE C

Use
A range of preformed, ready- shaped DPC cavitrays for use with proprietary metal lintels. Also suitable for use with cast in-situ, pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete lintels.

Introduction
The upgraded Type C cavitray range fulfils the latest British Standards and NHBC requirements which demand an independent DPC to be used with proprietary metal lintels in specified locations and applications. In addition, Type C cavitrays may be used to provide the obligatory DPC, when constructing using concrete lintels of most styles.

DPC 4 - TYPE X

Use
Preformed cavitray complete with integral lead flashing, to form a stepped cavity DPC and flashing at the abutment of a pitched roof with a cavity wall.

Introduction
Every stepped and every staggered gable abutment must be so constructed to prevent rainwater and dampness from penetrating below the abutting roof line. This is because the external skin changes status below the roof line and becomes an internal skin.

Accordingly, any preformed system must meet three basic requirements:

1.  It must prevent dampness from penetrating below the critical stepped roof line.

2. It must externally weatherproofs and flash the physical roof/masonry Intersection.

3. The arrangement must always protect the inside skin also from becoming damp. The high performance Type X cavitray fulfils all such functions whilst speeding up operations on site and ensuring a good and known quality of build.

DPC 5 - TYPE G

Use
Provides reliable DPC system for general-purpose applications including changes of level, diaphragm walls, porch and garage roof intersections, building off the solid, junctions with bay windows etc.

Introduction
The Type G cavitray is designed for general-purpose horizontal applications. It is supplied in preformed lengths and preformed angles, all of which have end upstands. Long runs of tray are easily created as adjoining section ends unite and secure together within the perp joint. Thus a positive union is established. The Type G cavitray is available in three styles. All Type G versions feature an adjustable upstand within the cavity, which accommodates cavity widths from 50mm up to 140mm.
